Location: Marcoola, Queensland

Services: Road Design & Carpark Development

Status: In Progress

This project enhanced the functionality and accessibility of Sunshine Coast Airport’s landside precinct, supporting future expansion and improving operational efficiency for passengers, staff, and transport operators.

Barlow Shelley contributed to multiple stages of the Airport’s upgrades, including the Lot 844 Car Park, Ground Transport Operator (GTO) Slip Lane, and License Plate Recognition (LPR) projects. Our services spanned concept, detailed, and IFC design for car parks, footpaths, and customer facilities, integrating civil, structural, electrical, lighting, telecommunication, and stormwater engineering disciplines.

Key outcomes include:

  • Improved vehicle and pedestrian circulation across the airport precinct

  • Enhanced accessibility and safety for passengers and staff

  • Flood and stormwater management solutions for resilient, sustainable infrastructure

  • Streamlined coordination and communication with Airport representatives and stakeholders

Through these projects, Barlow Shelley developed an in-depth understanding of Sunshine Coast Airport’s operational requirements and approval pathways, enabling efficient project mobilisation and proactive delivery. These works provide essential infrastructure to support the Airport’s growth while maintaining safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
